Americans Are Here

Lunch time walks seem to be ideal for finding street coins. Today, while walking on Spadina in search of stuff for my daughter who'll be leaving for university shortly, I found a 1977 US nickel. Poor lost coin was rescued from a Toronto Hydro Electric manhole cover. The manhole cover was on the sidewalk on the west side of Spadina, north of Queen in front of a Blue P parking lot.

Later, I had to go to the local drug store to get some first aid stuff. (My younger daughter injured her big toe and needed waterproof bandages to protect it while she completes her NLS lessons). So back to the coin finding... we left the drug store, and went to Baskin Robbins (located in the same plaza) to get some ice cream. Ice cream makes the booboos hurt less no matter how old you are. Next to the BR is a Money Mart and in front of the Money Mart was a 1996 US penny.

Two US coins found in different parts of a Canadian city. Into my piggy bank they went.
