New Penny

Mondays seem to be great coin finding days. And best thing about my find today is that I have a camera (yipee) and was to take a picture of the coin in the spot that I found it which was in front of Metro Hall but on King Street, on the sidewalk that near the garden.

Today's find was a 2009 US penny.  In 2009,  in honour of 200th anniversary of President Abraham Lincoln's birth and the 100th anniversary of the Lincoln cent, the US mint designed special commemorative coins depicting four different periods in Lincoln's life. The one I found is the second design in the coin set.  According to the US Mint site, the one I found pays tribute to Lincoln's formative years in Indiana.
